Precautions for the use of magnesium sulfate
Magnesium sulfate uses magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, and magnesite as raw materials, and is decomposed or neutralized by adding sulfuric acid.At the same time, the by-product of potassium chloride production is used as a raw material, mixed with the magnesium-containing mother liquor after bromine production in proportion, cooled, crystallized and separated to obtain crude magnesium sulfate, and then heated, filtered, purified, cooled and crystallized to obtain industrial magnesium sulfate. It can also be heated, concentrated, crystallized and separated from brine or an aqueous suspension of carbonated magnesium oxide and gypsum.
1.Storage and transportation characteristics
Precautions for transportation:From departure, the packaging should be complete and the loading should be properly protected.During transportation, ensure that the container will not leak, collapse, fall or be damaged. It is strictly prohibited to mix with oxidants and edible chemicals.During transportation, avoid sunlight, rain and high temperature. After transportation, the vehicle should be clean.Road transportation should follow the prescribed route.
2.Handling and storage
Operation precautions:closed operation, local exhaust.Prevent dust from being released into the workshop air.Operators need to receive special training and strictly abide by operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust masks, chemical protective glasses, gas permeation-proof overalls and rubber gloves.Avoid dust.Avoid contact with oxidants.Equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment.Empty containers may leave hazardous substances.
Storage precautions:Store in a cool and ventilated place.Keep away from fire and heat sources.Avoid direct sunlight.Packaging and sealing. It should be stored separately from the oxidant and should not be mixed. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to prevent leakage.
Waste disposal method:through the burial process. If possible, reuse the container or bury it in a designated place.
3.First aid measures
Skin contact:Take off contaminated clothing and rinse with running water.
Eye contact:Lift eyelids and rinse with running water or normal saline. Then seek medical advice.
Inhalation:Leave the scene quickly and breathe fresh air.Keep the airway unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately.Be sure to seek medical attention.
Intake:drink enough warm water to induce vomiting.Be sure to seek medical attention.
4.Fire protection measures
Hazardous characteristics:It can't burn by itself.Highly thermal decomposition emits toxic gases.
Hazardous combustion products:sulfur oxide,magnesium oxide.
Fire fighting method:Firefighters need to wear full-body fire fighting and anti-virus suits to extinguish the fire in the direction of the wind. When extinguishing the fire, move the container from the fire scene to an open place as much as possible. Then select the appropriate extinguishing agent according to the cause of the fire.
5.Emergency treatment
Isolate the leaking contaminated area and restrict access. It is recommended that emergency responders wear dust masks and general work clothes.Do not directly touch the leak.A small amount of leakage should be avoided:dust, carefully clean, collect and transport to the waste disposal site for disposal.A large number of leaks:are collected, recycled or transported to a waste disposal site for disposal.
It can be used in leather making, explosives, paper making, porcelain, fertilizer and as an oral laxative in medical treatment.Magnesium sulfate is used as an agricultural fertilizer because magnesium is one of the main components of chlorophyll.
